Thanks!!! He should be, it's something he'd been planning on for a long time. It was originally going to be done right after Christmas, but with my brother coming in town, it was rescheduled to today. I might go see him tonight if he's not too out of it.. we'll see.
I just tried to call my parents, but apparently they're not back yet. So I'll call again later. I think he injured his shoulder playing either tennis or golf some months ago, and it's been bothering him a lot, or at least aggravated by his continued activity, so the doctor recommended surgery to fix it. So not THAT serious, but probably a good thing he's having it done.
I'll keep your dad in my thoughts. My dad had 2 surgeries on his knee in November and so I can sympathize. Interestingly enough, also as a result of playing golf. Hope everything goes well!
The surgery went well... the muscle tear turned out to be worse than they thought (he actually had multiple tears) but they were able to fix it and he seems to be doing fine now. He will not be able to use his arm for like a month, so that will be difficult. When I talked to him last night, he was still numb, so I just hope that the pain medication will work when the numbness wears off... I'll go see him on Sunday to see how he's doing.
