Y is for YYZ

It's Toronto's airport code. Really. Does this make sense at all? No it doesn't. The only part that makes sense is that it begins with Y, as do all Canada's airport codes. But the -YZ? Uh-uh. I don't see it. Someone explain it to me.

Sorry guys, I don't have a better idea for Y... If I think of one I'll add it later.

You should stage protests. You could have signs that say stuff like:

"TORONTO = YYZ? I DON'T THINK SO!"
"WHY DO WE PARK ON DRIVEWAYS AND DRIVE ON PARKWAYS??"
"SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE FUCK?"
"OKAY, NOW I'M JUST CONFUSED..."

Hee! :P

Not to say that your point isn't valid. That is pretty ridiculous...

(apparently I can't spell)

Nice rant, Steph. Yes, YYZ is Toronto's Airport Code, but you'll have to ask the International Aviation folks why. Of course, all the reg numbers for US aircraft start with "N", not "U". At least ours start with "C". ;-)

BTW, "YYZ" is also the name of a kick-ass instrumental by Rush.
